Well! Just great, just absolutely marvelous!
It was a hot, sunny Friday evening, the crowds were there, people sold and most of all, at least for me, I felt a major sense of belonging and community. My art was on a gallery wall!
It's a huge feat and huge accomplished feeling having that. And what a fun show to be included into! The other artworks there, were fun, were interesting, were funny and overall made for a great tribute to a great filmmaker!
I stepped out of my comfort zone, surrounded myself with artists and coworkers of which I greatly admire, and find myself intimidated by talent wise, had a fun evening creating and then took the leap of faith in myself and submitted to the show. Being accepted so quickly by Chris and Hot Art Wet City, pretty much has made my entire year, but also, has given me that much needed confidence to try again!
So expect more of these silly ass pictures above, because I'll always be the nerd at the show, taking pictures of herself alongside her art, with a big stupid grin on my face! That's sheer and utter pride there my friends, excitement and pride, and it's been a long time coming to have that feeling associated with my art practice!
The show is still on and will be until the 27th of June, so for all you locals or people coming into Vancouver to visit, stop by Hot Art Wet City on Main street and have a peek at all those great art pieces, and let me know what you think!
Stay Inspired my friends!
I'm off now to create new pieces, but you can watch my daily progresses and what's going on with my instagram account at: www.instagram.com/auntyluluscolours, hope to meet you there!
